Did Ek just call Hoffman a power forward? If so, that definition has changed significantly in my years... I must be getting really old. LOL

Yes. Mike "Cam Neely" Hoffman. I mean look at this BIG physical specimen of a player just steamrolling his opponent. Imposing his will even. The quintessential power forward in today's NHL...

While I completely agree that is an extremely unlikely scenario, he really is exactly the type of player the Sabres could use from a leadership & talent perspective. He would be closer to home and the Sabres are one of the few teams who could pay him his worth. His presence would pay dividends in terms of Dahlin's development and alleviate the leadership burden on Eichel. Ideally, they would find that player in the form of a 2C, but that isn't likely either. So, although I recognize that I am being hopeful more than realistic... I wouldn't say that is an impossible outcome.

Exactly, that's what I thought. I hope guys like Owen Nolan, Wendell Clark and Keith Tkachuk (and, of course, Cam as you mentioned) best not read that... they might come looking for Ek! LOL!

Can't see Holtby signing with the Wings.....0% chance!
Wings will trade or sign an FA for a stop gap goalie for 2 yr term

Oilers look like they need Holtby the most. Yzerman will go dumpster diving and sign another stop gap to split time with Bernier. Both goalies will face more rubber than Jenna Jameson.

With them getting Lafrenere, a goalie and a 1st pairing D-man would be needed!

Is Hoffman a winger - yes.
Does he score goals - yes.
Is he bigger than Gaudreau - yes.
Then he's a power forward!

What is the most accurate definition of a power forward. Guy who is big and throws checks like Ovechkin? Or a guy who muscles his way into the slot and is difficult to move from there (like Simmonds)?

It seems to be a bit of a dying skill? I think of Lucic and Dustin Brown and Getzlaf and they are all getting up there. It seems to be a fading necessity.

Krug said he wants to stay in Boston. His family is settled there. He's an American. But you have him linked to 4 Canadian teams - Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. Did you consider that when you made this up?

Yeah Ek clearly doesn't know much about Mike Hoffman. More than one occasion that he has called him a power forward.

Krug wants to play with power forward Mike Hoffman. They're a package deal. I'm hearing Kings, Ducks, Oilers and maybe Isles. Or Flyers, Devils, Coyotes or Stars. But don't count out the Wild, Knights, Jets or Caps. My phones are lighting up. I might need a power chord. I better call Mike Hoffman.

I thought for sure the Leafs and Rangers would be in on that. Guess my e5 radar is off. I'd better buy a season pass!

Why would that be a problem?

Last time I checked, most of the roster players of the NHL American teams are Canadian born players.
